Mesh – Fallen Angel

Today’s video of the day is Mesh – "Fallen Angel" released in 2026.

Mesh return with “Fallen Angel,” the title track from their upcoming mini-album. Released as a video single on October 21, 2026, the song continues the British duo’s long tradition of melodic synth-pop and emotional electronic music. Mark Hockings and Richard Silverthorn formed Mesh in Bristol in the early 1990s. Since then, they have built a loyal following through atmospheric synthesizers, powerful melodies, and introspective lyrics. Albums such as The Point at Which It Falls Apart, We Collide, and A Perfect Solution helped establish their distinctive sound. Moreover, their combination of dark electronic textures and accessible pop songwriting has remained central to their music.

“Fallen Angel” follows The Truth Doesn’t Matter, Mesh’s March 2026 studio album, released through Dependent Records. Interestingly, the new project began as a request for another single from that album. However, Hockings and Silverthorn found fresh inspiration after their successful spring tour. Consequently, they wrote enough new material to create a nine-track release lasting approximately 42 minutes. Initially, “Fallen Angel” was intended as a simple B-side. Nevertheless, Hockings’ melancholic lyrics transformed the song into the centerpiece. Its themes of dark rebellion and the shadow behind a halo add another emotional layer to Mesh’s electronic sound.

The Fallen Angel mini-album arrives digitally and on vinyl on November 27, 2026, as a companion to The Truth Doesn’t Matter. Rather than launching an entirely new album era, Mesh describe the release as an extension of their latest full-length record. In addition, fans attending the duo’s European tour gained early access to physical CDs at live merchandise stands. The band also reunited with longtime producer and engineer Olaf Wollschläger for the single’s mix at Cottonbeat Studio in Germany. Wollschläger has worked on every Mesh release since 2009’s A Perfect Solution. As a result, “Fallen Angel” connects the duo’s latest creative direction with the production partnership that has helped shape their modern sound.
