Today’s video of the day is Tribantura – "Lack of Sense" released in 1988.

Tribantura’s “Lack of Sense,” released in 1988, is a hard-hitting EBM classic that still fills dancefloors. The German duo of Frank Rückert & Oliver Langbein, based in Michelstadt in the Odenwald district, fused industrial, EBM, and early techno into a powerful, floor-ready sound. This track appeared on several compilations, most notably Technodrome Vol. 1, a landmark in late ’80s electronic music. Though Tribantura only released a handful of tracks, “Lack of Sense” stands out as their defining moment. Its pounding basslines, distorted vocals, and relentless rhythm marked it as a staple of the underground scene.

“Lack of Sense” helped shape the sound of European EBM just as it crossed into techno territory. Alongside other acts of the era, Tribantura blurred genre lines. The song’s structure is simple yet aggressive, perfect for clubs and industrial parties. DJs still spin it during retro and alternative nights, and it never fails to move the crowd. The band’s minimal discography adds to their mystique. Tribantura also released “Getting Hurt” in 1989, a darker and moodier follow-up. However, it’s Technodrome Vol. 1 that preserved their legacy. Unlike many one-hit wonders, Tribantura carved a permanent place in EBM history.

The music video for “Lack of Sense” matches the track’s intensity. Stark visuals, flashing lights, and analog aesthetics reflect the era’s raw energy. It captures the gritty, kinetic spirit of industrial club culture in the late ’80s. In retrospect, “Lack of Sense” is more than a song—it’s a statement. It represents a time when electronic music pushed boundaries with minimal gear and maximum impact. Tribantura may have faded from the spotlight, but this track ensures they’ll never be forgotten. For fans of classic EBM, early techno, and industrial rhythms, “Lack of Sense” remains essential. Watch the video, feel the pulse, and remember why this genre still thrives.
