Today’s video of the day is Sevendials – "Obsession" released in 2025.

“Obsession” brings Sevendials’ industrial force into sharp focus. Released in 2025, the track features Ashley Bad on guest vocals. She is a New York-born, Los Angeles-based darkwave artist, DJ, and latex burlesque performer. Together, Sevendials deliver a heavy electronic reworking of the 1984 synth-pop classic. Michael Des Barres and Holly Knight originally wrote the song. Animotion later made it famous. However, Sevendials transform it with darker guitars, pounding electronics, and industrial intensity. Ashley Bad also adds a seductive edge to the song’s atmosphere. Meanwhile, the video captures the full lineup performing alongside her.

Sevendials formed as an industrial and goth rock supergroup. The band brings together veterans from several influential alternative acts. Chris Connelly handles co-lead vocals after his work with Ministry and Revolting Cocks. Mark Gemini Thwaite provides guitars, bass, keys, and production. He is known for his work with The Mission and Peter Murphy. Big Paul Ferguson supplies the drums after decades with Killing Joke. Ashley Bad then adds her distinctive voice to this powerful lineup. As a result, Sevendials blend industrial rock, goth, electronic music, and post-punk into one sound.

“Obsession” originally appeared on Sevendials’ debut album, A Crash Course In Catastrophe. The album arrived in April 2025 and established the band’s musical direction. Then, on May 16, Creation Youth and Cadiz Music released the song as its third single. The accompanying EP added a radio edit and club remixes. Legendary producer and Killing Joke bassist Martin “Youth” Glover created the remixes. Therefore, “Obsession” connects the band’s debut to its wider electronic influences. At the same time, it shows how Sevendials can reshape familiar material without losing its darker identity. Watch the video for a commanding performance that brings this collaboration to life.
