Today’s video of the day is the Sacred Skin – "Insomnia" feat. SRSQ released in 2025.

Sacred Skin return in 2025 with “Insomnia,” a sleek and restless new single. The Los Angeles duo blend new wave and synth-pop with post-punk tension. Brian DaMert and Brian Tarney write and produce the track. This time, they invite Kennedy Ashlyn, known as SRSQ, on vocals and keyboards. As a result, the song feels more intimate and fragile. The lyrics explore nocturnal fear, racing thoughts, and quiet panic. Yet the melody stays elegant and controlled. The track runs just over four minutes, but it lingers much longer.

The music video expands that mood with stark visual storytelling. Director M. Escribano uses charcoal-and-ink animation throughout. Therefore, each frame feels uneasy and alive. Shadows move like thoughts that refuse to rest. The visuals never distract from the song. Instead, they deepen its emotional pull. Moreover, the animation mirrors the anxiety at the heart of “Insomnia.” The result feels cohesive and deliberate. It stands as one of Sacred Skin’s most striking visual statements to date.

“Insomnia” is a standalone single released through Artoffact Records. It is not yet tied to a full-length album. However, it follows the dark romantic tone of The Decline of Pleasure. Compared to earlier releases, this track feels more restrained and vulnerable. Still, it keeps the duo’s signature polish intact. The collaboration with SRSQ adds a softer contrast. Consequently, the song hints at a broader emotional range ahead. “Insomnia” fits naturally within Sacred Skin’s catalog while pushing their sound forward.
