Today’s video of the day is This Morn’ Omina – "(The) Ninth Key" released in 2003.

This Morn’ Omina released “(The) Ninth Key” in 2003 on the double album Le Serpent Blanc ~ Le Serpent Rouge. The track captures their signature tribal-industrial sound. Pulsing rhythms, ritualistic drums, and layered electronics drive the energy forward. Now, the video offers a vivid visual companion to the track’s spiritual tension. The band formed in Belgium in the mid-1990s. They fused tribal rhythms with dark ambient and industrial beats. Over time, they became pioneers of the “ritual industrial” genre. This unique style blends trance elements with heavy percussion and mystical themes.

Le Serpent Blanc ~ Le Serpent Rouge marked a major evolution in their sound. The two-disc album explores duality. One side—Le Serpent Blanc—is outward, aggressive, and forceful. The other—Le Serpent Rouge—is inward, symbolic, and abstract. “(The) Ninth Key” belongs to Le Serpent Blanc. It reflects the rising of the uraeus. Its rhythms feel hypnotic, yet intense. At times, the sound seduces. At others, it strikes hard.

The video captures this duality well. It uses abstract imagery, dreamlike transitions, and layered symbolism. Viewers are drawn into an inner landscape—one that mirrors the band’s themes of awakening and transformation. The result feels like a ritual unfolding on screen. This album bridges the raw power of earlier releases like Nezeru Enti Sebauem Neterxertet with the refined storytelling of later works like The Nameless City. The sound matured, but the mission stayed the same—fuse rhythm with spirit. Fans of esoteric music and spiritual symbolism will find much to explore. “(The) Ninth Key” acts as a gateway. It invites viewers into a space between waking and dream. A place where vision replaces explanation. This Morn’ Omina continues to influence the ritual-industrial scene today. With “(The) Ninth Key,” they captured the balance between chaos and clarity. The song and video remain powerful tools for sonic exploration. For those ready to listen—and to see—it opens a path into deeper realms.
