Today’s video of the day is Die Krupps – "Nazis Auf Speed" released in 2013.

Die Krupps released the video for “Nazis Auf Speed” in 2013. The song appears on their album The Machinists of Joy. This album marked a major shift for the band. After years of blending industrial with heavy metal, Die Krupps returned to their roots. Formed in 1980 in Germany, Die Krupps became known for shaping industrial and EBM. Early albums like Volle Kraft Voraus! showcased their electronic focus. However, by the 1990s, they mixed in metal influences, especially on albums like Paradise Now.

With The Machinists of Joy, Die Krupps left behind the heavy metal sound. Instead, they embraced old-school EBM with driving basslines and sharp rhythms. Fredrik Schlatta Wik of Release Magazine praised the album’s nostalgic energy. He said it signaled a full return to their original form. Critics noticed the change. J. Niggels Uhlenbruch of Reflections of Darkness highlighted how guitarist Marcel Zuercher played a supporting role. His riffs added depth without overpowering the tracks. This approach brought the focus back to electronics and strong, pulsing beats.

“Nazis Auf Speed” captures this new yet familiar energy perfectly. The song moves with relentless force, driven by mechanical rhythms and fierce vocals. The video mirrors this intensity with stark, industrial visuals that match the band’s early imagery. The Machinists of Joy received many positive reviews. Grant V. Ziegler of COMA Music Magazine called it essential for industrial fans. Dominic Lynch of Intravenous Magazine also praised the album’s powerful execution. However, not everyone thought it would bring new listeners. Wik believed the album mainly appealed to longtime fans. Still, for those who loved Die Krupps’ early work, The Machinists of Joy was a thrilling revival. In “Nazis Auf Speed,” Die Krupps proved they could evolve while honoring their past. The song and video show why the band remains a powerful force in industrial music.
