Today’s video of the day is Orphan Zero – “System Thought” released in 2022.

Orphan Zero, the electronic music project by M. Jackson Price, released the song “System Thought” in 2022. This track stands out as a key highlight on the album Neon Ghosts. The album reflects a blend of darkwave and synthwave, capturing the essence of retro electronic music with a modern twist. Price, who is also an accomplished artist, has his paintings showcased across the U.S. and internationally. His work was part of the “Big Eyes” exhibition at the Fullerton Museum, celebrating Tim Burton’s film. This exhibition placed him alongside acclaimed artists like Margaret Keane and Tim Burton himself. Price’s art has been widely recognized, featured in magazines, newspapers, and online articles. His artwork even graced the covers of books by thriller writer Camilla Lackberg and was included in the La Luz De Jesus Art Book, celebrating 25 years of the gallery.

Musically, Orphan Zero has gained attention on platforms like New Retro Wave, The 80’s Guy, and EBSM (electro body synth music). “System Thought” follows the themes established in Orphan Zero’s previous work, blending nostalgia with innovation. The song’s dark, atmospheric tones fit perfectly within the context of Neon Ghosts, continuing the narrative of futuristic dystopia present in earlier tracks.

Orphan Zero’s music often explores the tension between human emotion and technological advancement. “System Thought” embodies this struggle, pairing haunting synths with a driving beat. This track is a pivotal moment on Neon Ghosts, connecting the album’s overarching themes to Orphan Zero’s broader discography. As Price’s art and music both gain recognition, “System Thought” serves as a testament to his unique vision. His work, whether visual or auditory, challenges boundaries and invites audiences to explore deeper emotional and intellectual landscapes.
