Today’s video of the day is Ash Code – "Nostalgia" released in 2024.

Ash Code returns with a powerful new single and video, “Nostalgia,” released in 2024. Known for their darkwave and post-punk sound, the band delivers haunting melodies, gothic atmospheres, and sharp emotion. Formed in Naples, Italy in 2013, Ash Code includes Alessandro Belluccio (vocals, programming), Claudia Nottebella (synths, vocals), and Adriano Belluccio (bass VI). They built a loyal following with albums like Oblivion (2014), Posthuman (2016), and Perspektive (2018). Each release explored modern alienation and inner turmoil, set against cold wave beats and brooding synths.

“Nostalgia” appears on their 2024 album Fear, a record that pushes their sound into darker, more intimate territory. The song captures the seductive danger of memory. Its lyrics warn against longing for a past that no longer exists. Instead, they encourage growth and emotional freedom. “Nostalgia is a crime,” sings Alessandro. It’s a strong message. Rather than worship the past, he urges listeners to embrace change. The track blends melancholic synths with urgent rhythms, staying true to Ash Code’s signature style while offering deeper personal insight.

Directed by Elio De Filippo (Nubes Grafica), the video enhances the song’s theme. Shot on a 90s Sony camcorder, it uses analog tools and DIY video synths. The result feels raw and real—like finding an old VHS tape in your attic. It mirrors the song’s exploration of memory, decay, and transformation. The new video connects past and future, reflecting how Fear expands Ash Code’s sonic and visual language. Compared to earlier works, this album leans further into introspection and emotional clarity. Yet it keeps the same dark, cinematic energy that defines the band. Mixed and mastered by Francesco Giuliano at Innerwood Studio, “Nostalgia” continues Ash Code’s evolution. After a brief hiatus from touring to focus on family, the band returns stronger than ever. They remind us that while memory has power, the future holds promise.
