Today’s video of the day is Gazelle Twin – “Black Dog” released in 2023.

Gazelle Twin released the video for their haunting track, “Black Dog,” in 2023. This powerful remix by Gary Numan and Ade Fenton brings new energy to the song. The remix is part of Shadow Dogs, which drops on Invada Records on December 6, 2024. Gazelle Twin, the project of Elizabeth Bernholz, has been active since 2009. Known for dark, experimental soundscapes, Gazelle Twin blends industrial, electronic, and theatrical elements. Her music often explores dystopian themes and societal tensions.

“Black Dog” first appeared in its original form on Black Dog (2023). This album dives deep into human fears and psychological struggles. The track stands out for its eerie melodies and gripping vocals. Numan and Fenton’s remix intensifies these elements, giving it a more mechanical edge. Shadow Dogs is a follow-up compilation featuring reinterpretations of Gazelle Twin’s music. This release highlights the evolving nature of her sound. It connects seamlessly to her previous albums, such as Pastoral (2018), which critiqued nationalism, and The Entire City (2011), which explored urban decay.

The “Black Dog” video complements the track’s mood. Its visuals are stark and unsettling, amplifying the song’s themes of inner conflict. The remix and video show Gazelle Twin’s continued innovation and collaboration with iconic artists. Fans of dark electronic music will find Shadow Dogs a fitting addition to Gazelle Twin’s catalog. It bridges her earlier works with fresh perspectives. This makes it essential listening for both long-time fans and newcomers.
