Today’s video of the day is Pigface – “Insect / Suspect” released in 2003.

Pigface, an industrial rock supergroup, was formed in 1990 by Martin Atkins and Bill Rieflin. Both drummers had played with Ministry. They liked the idea of a band with two drummers. Pigface began as a revolving-door project, featuring many experimental musicians. Many early collaborators recorded for Wax Trax, an influential industrial music label. One notable early partner was Trent Reznor. At the time, legal troubles prevented Nine Inch Nails from recording under their name. Reznor co-wrote and sang “Suck,” an underground hit. He later re-recorded the song with Nine Inch Nails.

Rieflin eventually left Pigface, leaving Atkins in charge. Over the years, dozens, perhaps hundreds, of musicians have worked with Pigface. This revolving lineup means each album and song is unique. However, some critics believe this leads to a lack of continuity. Pigface concerts are high-energy events. Often, more than ten people perform on stage at once. Martin Atkins and the band love interacting with the audience. They frequently invite audience members on stage for the encore.

“Insect/Suspect (Suck a Loop Just for Funk)” was released in 2003. The song is part of the album Easy Listening…. This album continues Pigface’s tradition of experimental sounds and diverse collaborations. The track showcases their signature industrial rock style. It blends heavy beats, electronic elements, and intense vocals.

Compared to earlier albums, Easy Listening… offers a more polished sound. However, it retains the raw energy and creativity that fans expect. The album’s diversity is evident in its wide range of musical influences. Each track brings something new to the table, ensuring no two songs sound alike. Pigface’s approach to music is always evolving. Their willingness to experiment keeps their sound fresh. Fans appreciate the band’s commitment to pushing boundaries. This song and its video are perfect examples of Pigface’s innovative spirit.

In conclusion, Pigface’s “Insect/Suspect (Suck a Loop Just for Funk)” video highlights their unique style. The band’s history of collaboration and experimentation shines through. Fans of industrial rock will enjoy the energetic performance and distinctive sound. Check out the video and experience Pigface’s creativity in action.
