Fini Tribe - I Want More - Stigmata Video Dance Party

Today’s video of the day is Fini Tribe – "I Want More" released in 1987.

Fini Tribe unleashed I Want More in 1987 through WaxTrax! Records. The track, a cover of CAN’s 1976 classic, became an instant underground favorite. Now, on 12 August 2025, the video returns to promote The Sheer Action of Fini Tribe: 1982–1987, a definitive collection of the band’s formative work. Formed in Edinburgh in 1984, Fini Tribe blended industrial textures with dance-driven beats. Their early years were marked by experimentation and political edge. Chris Connelly’s distinctive voice and the group’s percussive intensity set them apart from other electronic acts of the time.

I Want More reflects that bold style. Connelly recalls how CAN influenced the band even before its inception. Rearranging the track allowed them to inject their signature percussion-heavy framework. When they approached WaxTrax!, label co-founder Jim Nash revealed the original CAN single was a store favorite in Chicago. It was a perfect creative match. In the context of Fini Tribe’s catalog, I Want More bridges raw early singles and their later, more polished sound. It captures the urgency of their beginnings while hinting at the expanded sonic scope of albums to come. This re-premiere also offers new fans a glimpse into their roots before later works like Grossing 10K and Sleazy Listening.

The Sheer Action of Fini Tribe: 1982–1987 gathers these vital tracks into one release. It will be available on vinyl in a gatefold sleeve with insert, a three-CD box set with a 24-page booklet, and digital formats on 10 October 2025. With its hypnotic rhythms and rebellious spirit, I Want More remains a cornerstone of the band’s early identity. The 2025 re-release is both a celebration and a reminder of Fini Tribe’s fearless approach to music-making. For long-time fans and new listeners alike, it’s a chance to rediscover the energy that made them a WaxTrax! standout.
